Responsibilities
Safely operate logging trucks and associated heavy equipment to transport timber from forest sites to processing locations
Conduct pre-trip inspections and routine maintenance checks on trucks and equipment to ensure optimal performance
Load and unload logs using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring secure transportation
Follow all safety protocols, including adherence to DOT regulations and environmental guidelines
Maintain accurate logs of trips, cargo, and vehicle maintenance records
Assist with general site tasks such as maintenance, use of hand tools, power tools, or as needed
Communicate effectively with team members regarding schedules, routes,
and safety concerns
Perform minor repairs or troubleshooting related to mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions
Skills
Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with heavy-duty trucks or logging vehicles
Mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and minor repairs of trucks and equipment
Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in forestry or construction settings
