Lead Carpenter / Framing Crew Leader:

We’re a growing carpentry, framing, and general contracting company looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to run framing crews on residential and multi-unit stick-frame projects (8 to 40 units) across Ottawa, with opportunities expanding throughout Ontario. In addition to framing, we take on large finish carpentry projects and general contractor work building houses and various renovation/restoration projects. The ability to help organize and coordinate other trades is a strong asset.

Duties
Lead and supervise framing crews, assigning tasks and monitoring progress throughout each project phase
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate framing execution
Coordinate with project managers and other trades to align schedules, materials, and workflows for seamless project delivery
Maintain strict quality control standards by inspecting work regularly and implementing corrective actions as needed
Manage on-site safety protocols, ensuring all team members adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Utilize our systems for documentation, tracking progress, and reporting issues

Experience
Proven supervising experience in framing or general carpentry roles within commercial or residential construction settings
Extensive construction experience with a strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, and construction estimating
Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
Knowledge of quality control procedures and best practices in framing work
Strong organizational skills with experience managing budgets and project timelines
Positive, team-first attitude , someone who builds a positive crew culture
Ability to communicate clearly with team members, clients, and project stakeholders
Capable of framing hands-on if required, though the role is primarily leadership/oversight
Experience organizing multiple trades on a job site is an asset
