We are looking for a personal caregiver to assist a male employer who has spastic cerebral palsy in all activities of daily living.
This employer is a graduate from UBC, who is interested in learning different languages. He is interested in documentaries, podcasts related to law and crime, and their pet cat who loves making current friends.
The ideal caregiver is someone who is enthusiastic, motivated, and willing to learn.
Location:
North Vancouver (near Seymour Heights Elementary School )
Shifts and Hours:
Monday to Sunday: 9am to 11am
Monday to Sunday: 9pm to 11pm
Compensation
$22 per hour
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Morning shift
Getting ready for the day
Shower, medication administration, getting dressed, toileting
Manual assist using sling
Night shift:
Assisting with bed time routine such as dressing and toileting
Manual assist to get into bed and make sure comfortable (no bunching of sheets or blankets)
Qualifications:
Willingness to learn and demonstrate maturity
First Aid and CPR certification an asset
Driver License is an asset
Ability to speak French an asset
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Post-secondary education required
Must be comfortable working in an workplace with a cat
No smoking during or two hours before shift, as client is sensitive to smoke
