310T Mechanic or 4th Year Apprentice

Student Transportation of Canada is currently seeking a 310T Mechanic for our Port Hope location; 4th Year Apprentices will also be considered for this role. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing company that offers competitive wages, skilled growth and work-life balance.

The shift for this position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Qualifications
Licensed 310T Mechanic or 4th Year Apprentice
Safety Inspection License
Experience working with a Fleet Management System is considered an asset
Previous school bus experience considered an asset
Analytical and troubleshooting skills
Own hand tools
Valid Driver’s License
Fluent in written and spoken English
Computer and diagnostic equipment skills




Ability to work in a rapid-paced environment
Ability to work independently
Strong time management skills and well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)
Comprehensive screening and background checks are required, including references, drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check

Key Responsibilities
Ongoing maintenance/repair of various school buses
Brake and Safety Inspections
Compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as the Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations governing the location is a must
