Your Opportunity:

The position is located at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital Emergency Department. Under the supervision of the Unit Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing the clerical tasks needed to support the patient care activities of the Emergency Department; able to work independently within the team; will participate in quality monitoring activities and able to perform multiple duties in a quick-paced environment.

Description:

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the effective flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Medical Terminology required. Previous experience Unit Clerk required. Computer skills essential. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous unit clerk experience in an acute care setting preferred.
