The Automation and Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting advanced warehouse automation systems such as PLCs, robotics, AGVs/AMRs, and SCADA. This role ensures optimal system functionality, minimizes downtime, and supports operational efficiency. It is a rotational shift position with some weekend work as required.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Subject Matter Expert for warehouse automation systems and controls

Install, maintain, and repair electrical, electronic, and control systems

Troubleshoot equipment issues using PLC diagnostics and analysis

Support PLC/HMI programming, including modifications and fault resolution

Perform preventive maintenance, calibration,



and repairs on automation systems

Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and system designs

Support continuous improvement and equipment efficiency initiatives

Ensure compliance with safety standards, policies, and procedures

Qualifications:

3+ years of experience with PLCs and HMIs in a manufacturing environment

Valid trade certification (Industrial Electrician or equivalent) or relevant diploma/degree

Strong troubleshooting experience with automation, controls, and robotics systems

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics

Willingness to work a 2-week rotational shift schedule

Availability to work overtime during weekdays, weekends, and scheduled shutdowns as required

Physically capable of performing job-related tasks (lifting, standing, bending)

Solid communication skills and ability to work independently or within a team
