How you will contribute as part of the TRCA team

The Payroll Assistant is responsible for supporting the accurate collection, verification and processing bi-weekly payroll. This role supports benefits administration for the TRCA.

Major Responsibilities
Supports payroll system administration and quality assurance and control with a focus on accuracy
Supports data integrity in the payroll system by conducting regular report audits; takes action to identify and address discrepancies
Processes all employee group health benefits enrolments, changes and terminations
Documents and communicates all employee benefits changes to the benefits provider
Administers advantages change reports for internal purposes
Provides various reports to internal and external stakeholders
Incumbents may also be assigned other duties

What will you need to succeed

Education (degree/diploma/certifications/licenses)




Completion of college diploma in Payroll, Business Commerce, Accounting, or a related field

Experience
1+ years of payroll and/or perks related experience

Knowledge/Skill/Ability - Competencies
Understanding and application of basic mathematical functions (e.g., adding, subtracting, measuring, money computation)
Able to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines; skilled in writing explicit correspondence (concise, logical, grammatically correct)
Ability to communicate effectively with tact and courtesy
Demonstrates responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and needs
Basic computer proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint
