Job details
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience.
Work site environment: Outdoors. At heights. Confined spaces. Dusty.
Work setting: Various locations.
Tasks: Load, unload and transport construction materials. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Level earth to fine grade specifications. Clean and pile salvaged materials. Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants. Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites. Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction. Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
Equipment and machinery experience: Bobcats. Concrete saws.
Construction specialization: Industrial, commercial and institutional. Residential. Sidewalks and curbs.
Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available.
Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Tight deadlines. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Sound discrimination.
Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
