Job Title: CNC Machinist
This role involves operating CNC mills or lathes to produce precision components within tight tolerances, performing set-ups using pre-established programs, and verifying part quality through accurate measurement and inspection. You will work in a machine shop environment on afternoon or night shifts, contributing to high-quality machining operations.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC mills or CNC lathes to produce parts within tight tolerances and to precise specifications.

Perform machine set‑ups using pre-established CNC programs, ensuring correct tooling, workholding, and offsets.

Measure and check parts using appropriate inspection tools to verify dimensions and quality.

Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.

Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy and part quality.

Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all shop safety procedures.

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and timelines.

Perform basic troubleshooting of machining issues and communicate more complex problems to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

3+ years of CNC machinist experience operating either lathes or mills.

Proficiency in operating CNC mills and/or CNC lathes in a production environment.

Ability to work within tight tolerances and maintain consistent part quality.

Experience measuring and checking parts using standard inspection tools.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and machining drawings.

Hands‑on machining experience in a machine shop environment.

Familiarity with milling and lathe operations, including set‑ups using pre‑established programs.





Experience working in a precision machining environment is preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Programming experience for CNC machines is an asset.

Experience with Haas controls or similar CNC control systems is an advantage.

Background in mill‑turn operations or manual machining is beneficial.

Previous experience in a high‑precision or close‑tolerance manufacturing setting is preferred.

Work Environment
You will work in a machine shop environment operating CNC lathes and mills. Available shifts include afternoon shifts from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for CNC lathes and CNC mills, as well as a night shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for CNC mills. The role involves working around machining equipment and tools in a production setting, adhering to standard shop safety practices and appropriate industrial attire suitable for a machining environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Kitchener, ON.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $64480.00/yr.

Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Kitchener,ON.
