We are looking for a dedicated and energetic 2nd Cook to join our culinary team. As our 2nd Cook, you are the right hand to the Head Chef and Sous Chef. You are responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen with precision, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring that every plate that leaves the pass is perfect.
Key Responsibilities
Station Management: Take ownership of your assigned station (e.g., Grill, Sauté, Garde Manger) during service, ensuring speed and accuracy.
Food Preparation: Prep ingredients according to established recipes, including chopping vegetables, butchering proteins, and making sauces.
Quality Control: Taste and inspect ingredients to ensure freshness and adherence to our quality standards.
Team Support: Assist the Sous Chef in directing junior cooks and dishwashers during busy shifts.
Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station, strictly following health and safety regulations.
Inventory: Assist with receiving deliveries, rotating stock,
and minimizing food waste.
What We Are Looking For
Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen.
Skills: Robust knife skills, knowledge of cooking techniques, and the ability to multitask under pressure.
Team Player: A positive attitude and the ability to communicate clearly during a busy service.
Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Certifications: Food Handler's Certificate or equivalent required.
