Cleaning Technician – Data Center Department:Property Management
Reports To:Property Manager
Job Summary The Data Center Cleaning Technicianis responsible formaintaininga clean, dust-free, and contamination-controlled environment within a mission-critical data center facility. This role supports the operational integrity of sensitive electronic equipment by performing specialized cleaning tasks in server rooms, raised floor environments, and surrounding facility spaces, in strict accordance with data center safety and cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities Perform routine and deep cleaning of server rooms, data halls, raised floors, and equipment racks using data-center-approved, low-particulate, static-safe cleaning methods and materials.
Vacuum and clean under raised floor tiles, cable trays, and air plenum spaces to reduce dust and debris that could affect airflow or equipment performance.
Clean and sanitize non-technical areas including offices, break rooms, restrooms, hallways, entryways, and loading docks.
Use anti-static (ESD-safe) equipment, tools, and cleaning products to prevent damage to sensitive electronic systems.
Follow strict protocols for entering and working within secure, access-controlled data center environments.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles and manage waste disposalin accordance withfacility policy.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; request restocking as needed.
Complete cleaning logs, checklists, and documentation to verify tasks performed andmaintaincompliance records.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.




Prior experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial services, or facilities maintenance (data center or cleanroom experience preferred but notrequired).
Ability to pass a background check and security clearance process (requiredfor access to secure data center environments).
Basic understanding of, or willingness to be trained on, static-sensitive equipment handling and contamination control procedures.
Ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols and safetyprocedures precisely.
Solid attention to detail and reliability.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a data center, cleanroom, laboratory, or other technical/controlled environment.
Familiarity with ESD (electrostatic discharge) safety practices.
OSHA safety certification or equivalent training.
Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 lbs.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
Ability to work in environments with fluctuating temperatures (data halls are often cooler than standard office spaces) and background equipment noise.
Comfortable working at heights or in confined spaces (e.g., under raised floors) as needed.
Work Environment & Schedule DataOneoperates24/7; shifts may include evenings, weekends, overnight, or on-call availability.
Work is performed on-site within a secured facility; all visitors and staff must comply with facility access and security protocols.
