Position Overview
The City of Kamloops seeking a skilled and motivated permanent, full-time Network Administrator to join our IT team. If you have a strong background in network administration, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, this position may be a great fit. Our Network Administrators are critical in ensuring the smooth operation, security, and efficiency of our network systems.
As a Network Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of our network infrastructure. This includes managing our network hardware and software, monitoring network performance, and implementing necessary upgrades and patches.
You will work closely with our IT Division to design and deploy network solutions that meet the evolving needs of the City of Kamloops.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
Completion of a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree or an equivalent degree;
OR
Completion of a diploma in Computer Science or Computer Systems and a minimum eight years’ experience working in Information Technology and two years’ experience working in a full time Networking role or equivalent (for a total of ten years’ experience).
Valid or recently expired, Cisco CCNA certificate or equivalent industry certification.
Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence.
Minimum two (2) years' previous experience working with enterprise firewall platforms, such as Checkpoint, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet FortiGate, Cisco Firepower, or equivalent.
Minimum two (2) years’ previous experience working with Cisco networking equipment.
