Construction helper
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.

Work site setting: Outdoors. At heights. Noisy.

Work setting: Remote location. Construction site.

Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.

Responsibilities
Tasks

Load, unload and transport construction materials

Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades

Operate bridge or overhead cranes to lift, move and place plant machinery and materials

Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs

Assist in demolishing buildings

Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites

Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants

Perform various trade work during home construction or renovation activities

Perform general labouring duties

Help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed

Equipment and machinery experience

Concrete vibrators

Drills

Hand tools

Construction specialization

Driveways

Sidewalks and curbs

Roofing
