Job Description: The Manager, Business Insight Specialist within Enterprise Stress Testing, Treasury and Balance Sheet Management, will have the responsibilities of using models to forecast Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) for the wholesale banking segment, including the trading portfolio and non-trading businesses such as Corporate and Investment Banking. The financial models are primarily used for stress testing purposes to support the Bank's capital planning and assessment process. Model development activities are also governed by TD's standards, policies, and procedures. Stress testing is a critical component of the Bank's risk management practices, which informs and enhances its ability to manage stress conditions and assess its capital adequacy level. It evidences TD’s ability to withstand significant market stress by continuing to provide banking services to customers. We participate in Enterprise-wise Stress Testing (EWST), Dodd-Frank Act Stress Tests (DFAST), Macro-economic Stress Testing (MST) and other enterprise or region-specific programs. This role requires general statistical knowledge, financial analysis skill sets and understanding of wholesale banking businesses. You will be working with a variety of partners and stakeholders across the Bank, including the line of business (LOB), finance, risk and governance.
Primary Accountabilities Responsible for stress testing model execution in line with established playbook
Analyze results and understand outputs' reasonability & intuition
Perform aggregation of results and exercise reconciliation & control
Develop presentation material and narratives to drive for business insight
Present the results for review and approval by LOB and senior management of wholesale businesses & challenge function groups
Execute all required control procedures and maintain a strong control environment for stress testing processes based on program requirements and standards
Develop aggregation models or processes as necessary, including required documentation.
Lead or support projects to investigate issues and identify solutions
Continuously strive for improvement and automation in the processes
Provide support to governance activities as required
Ad hoc initiatives or projects as required
Develop SOP for each task executed during cycle and cross train with team member for various models
Work with Model Lifecycle Environment developer team to review model implementation in SAS and debug issue during model execution
Work in PowerBI to enhance analytics capability of results for stress testing cycle
Qualifications / Skills / Experience Demonstrated skills in communicating complex issues and financial analysis to a diverse audience
Must be proficient with quantitative analysis tools and concepts
Ability to manage deadlines, multiple tasks and adapt well to changing priorities
Must be curious and analytical to understand new concept quickly
Working knowledge of SAS and / or Python
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word, PowerBI
Experience in supporting wholesale businesses and knowledge of wholesale products and processes
Strong accounting or finance background, with the ability to read, understand, and interpret balance sheets and income statement
Knowledge of wholesale stress testing processes an asset
Strong proven ability to work in a team, provide training, fostering a positive and rewarding work environment
7+ years of relevant experience
Nice to have CFA/FRM certification is preferred
