Operate and maintain heavy vehicles and equipment supporting environmental cleanup and emergency spill response
Respond to environmental and industrial spills
Decommission clandestine laboratories
Respond to highway incidents involving tractor trailers, accidents, and chemical leaks
Respond to train derailments involving hazardous chemicals, fires, and site safety
Conduct marine operations involving fuel spills, boom deployment, and boat operations
Respond to weather events including wind/ice storms, forest fires, and flooding
Provide chemical assessments and advisory services
Work alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders
Operate heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters during incidents
Participate in job-specific and health and safety training
Operate efficiently and safely
Complete work-related documentation and reporting
Follow organizational policies and procedures and promote a workplace free of harassment and violence
Report workplace hazards, accidents, and other safety occurrences
Adhere to applicable occupational health, safety, human rights, and employment standards legislation
Preserve confidentiality and minimize risk
Requirements
Valid AZ License
High School diploma minimum
Certification from a recognized Truck Driving School
Valid Commercial AZ License
Proficient operation of pneumatic and shell tankers, wet/dry vacs, hydro vacs, liquid wet vacs, roll-off trucks, trailers, box trailers, and straight trucks
Experience with pallet jacks, dollies, carts, sewer cleaning equipment, combination units, and sewer flushing units
Certified training for confined space watch, rescue, and entrance
Certified Emergency Response Hazmat Technician (GFL course)
Ability to drive manual transmission trucks
Overtime as required
Weekend work may be requiredAvailability for a weekly on-call schedule
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
Strong oral and written communication abilities
