Salary: £31,554 - £33,270 inclusive of inner london HCAS

We have an exciting opportunity for a healthcare assistance to work in multidisciplinary team to ensure a high standard of nursing care to call inpatients located within the H3 unit at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. The post holder will provide direct holistic care as necessary to a designated group of patients. Participate in the care planning, provision and evaluation of patients’ needs under the supervision of trained staff.

Work under the direction and supervision of trained nursing staff.

Recognise and respect patients as individuals with the same rights, needs and emotions as everyone else. Promote dignity and self-esteem of patients at all times.

To act in a manner to raise standards of care and make the services culturally sensitive, relevant and accessible to meet the needs of the patients.

Assist qualified staff in the assessment of patient’s needs and the implementation of individual plans of care.

Participate in the facilitation of group activities and run clinics.

Record and document as required (and after appropriate training) physical observations, such as weight, temperature, pulse and respirations and blood pressure. To report to the nurse in charge any significant findings.

Co-operate with, contribute to and enact all aspects of daily work as co-ordinated and planned for by the ward manager/nurse in charge.

Communicate with patients and visitors, referring them to the nurse in charge/named nurse as necessary.





Contribute to handovers and use the service communication systems to ensure information is used effectively.

Adhere to local procedures in relation to maintaining the safety and security of patients, staff, visitors and other professionals.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington.
