Registered Nurse (RN) – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) | Contract Opportunity
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Neonatal Intensive Care / NICU nursing ?
We are currently seeking experienced NICU Registered Nurses (RNs) to support neonatal services in Abbotsford, British Columbia .
As a NICU RN , you will provide specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns. You will work closely with neonatologists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care.
Location: Abbotsford, BC
Position: Registered Nurse – NICU
Schedule: Days, evenings, nights, weekends, and rotating shifts may be available
Environment: Hospital-based neonatal intensive care setting
Team: Multidisciplinary neonatal and pediatric care team
What You’ll Do
Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns
Monitor neonatal vital signs, respiratory status, oxygenation, and clinical condition
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments within professional scope
Support respiratory and nutritional needs of neonates
Assist with procedures and interventions as required
Recognize and respond promptly to changes in neonatal condition
Maintain accurate clinical documentation and EMR records
Support feeding, growth, development, and thermoregulation
Follow infection prevention and neonatal safety practices
Provide education, reassurance, and emotional support to parents and families
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
Respond effectively to neonatal emergencies and high-acuity situations
What You’ll Bring
Active Registered Nurse (RN) licence in good standing with BCCNM
Current BLS/CPR certification
Strong knowledge of neonatal assessment and critical care practices
Excellent clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication and documentation abilitiesAbility to work effectively in a high-acuity, quick-paced environment
Commitment to patient safety and family-centered care
Premature and low-birth-weight infants
Respiratory support and neonatal monitoring
IV therapy and medication administration
Feeding and nutritional support
Neonatal emergencies and resuscitation
Pediatric or acute-care hospital experience
Experience working with multidisciplinary neonatal teams
