Nordock Inc. a manufacturer of loading dock equipment in the Entrance Systems Divison of ASSA ABLOY is currently looking for a Buyer. The Buyer is a key role in the strategic plan to ensure supply chain operations are stable and inventory levels are adequate to meet production lead-times. The BUYER will have exceptional knowledge and insight into the production plan and will partner with operations personnel to meet or exceed customer expectations. An enthusiastic self-starter with a strong drive to improve existing processes and systems is highly desired. Excellent organizational skills and exceptional multitasking skills are a necessity.
Primary responsibilities include: Review manufacturing needs and generate or release orders to meet customer and forecast demand requirements and inventory plan
Issues all purchase order requests, tracks receipt, expedites and resolves issues.
Track, monitor and expedite part shortages.
Integrates internal protocals (eg. Just-in-time, Kanban) with vendor - and customer- related processes.
Follows up on goods receipts transaction discrepencies
Evaluate and report delivery reliability misses and update production for potential impacts
Working with the Planning Manager to deal with Quality and Engineering departments to resolve quality and rejected material problems.
Executes purchase orders for a range of commodities
Responsible to support vendor service levels, cost, and inventory turns KPI's for the facility
Manage service providers to site and issue PO's for required work
Manage in house shop supplies and look for opportunities for cost savings
Purchasing of unique project related items




Coordinate special requirements for outsourcing in support of master planner
Maintain tooling supplies for shop equipment and look for opportunities for savings
Back-up for serial number creation for equipment
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business or experience in a related field
3-5 years Supply Chain Planning experience, make-to-stock and make-to-order experience preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to draw information from various sources, analyze, and provide recommendations
Strong planning and organizational skills
Solid interpersonal and communication skills (oral & written)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent Excel skills
Self starter with the ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities
ERP experience (LN is a plus)
Able to work independently with little supervison and/or in a team environment
Salary Range: $64,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year ( CAD )
