Full-time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist in the administration and maintenance of the organization's safety programs to ensure compliance with all new and existing health and safety legislation
Assist in requirements to maintain Company ISO Certification
Attend JHSC meetings, record meeting minutes.
Assist in the tracking, maintaining, organizing and coordinating Employee training including safety orientation to new Employees.
Develop skills in presentations, orientations, site inspections and accident/injury reports
Assist with the administrative function for the department by ensuring all site safety reports, tool box talks, and other associated documentation is reviewed, organized, properly completed and filed
Periodically travel to various site locations to conduct inspections on jobsites, PPE, conduct safety audits and initiate corrections.
Assist with assembling job safety boards
Develop skills to proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
Coordinate and maintain company safety equipment; identify new safety equipment/supplies
Prepares correspondence, reports, forms, and specialized documents; proofreads materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance, formatting, and grammar.
Participate in training required to pursue NCSO
Perform other duties as assigned to meet business unit and corporate objectives.
EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related OHS discipline
Must have a valid driver's license.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Effective working knowledge of applicable safety legislation
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to be flexible and work in a rapid-paced environment
Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Confidence managing potentially difficult situations regarding site safety
Strong interpersonal skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
Periodic travel to and working on project sites as required.
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
Lifting or moving up to 25lbs may be required.
