Location: Powell River/qathet Regional District

List of Requirements
The successful candidate will be practical, self-directed, and comfortable handling a variety of maintenance tasks. Preferred qualifications include:
Previous handyman, building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or trades experience.
Demonstrated working knowledge of common repair practices, hand and power tools, and basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and grounds-maintenance tasks.
The ability to assess a problem, recommend a practical solution, and complete work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
A strong commitment to safe work practices, attention to detail, and respect for community property.
Physical ability to perform maintenance work, including lifting materials and equipment, bending, climbing ladders, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
A valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation. Access to a personal set of basic tools is an asset.
Strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, and a qualified, respectful manner.
Ability to provide references. A background check may be required.
Must be okay with texting and app usage for timecards and payroll.
List of Duties
The General Handyman will perform a broad range of routine maintenance, minor repairs, and property-upkeep duties. Responsibilities may include:
Completing minor repairs to buildings, park facilities, fixtures, fencing, gates, decks, steps, doors, windows, and common-area amenities.
Performing basic plumbing repairs, such as addressing leaks, replacing faucets or fittings, and troubleshooting minor drainage issues.
Carrying out basic electrical tasks within the scope of experience and applicable regulations, including replacing light fixtures, bulbs, switches, and receptacles.
Assisting with general grounds and site upkeep, including minor landscaping, debris removal, pressure washing, painting, seasonal maintenance, and clean-up.
Inspecting facilities and identifying maintenance, safety, or repair needs; reporting larger or specialized work promptly to park management.
Supporting unit turnover, move-in, and move-out maintenance as required.
Maintaining a clean, organized work area and using tools, equipment, and materials safely and responsibly.
Providing courteous, professional service when interacting with residents, guests, vendors, and park management.
Proximity to the park is an asset.
Housing at the park is an option as part of compensation.
Having own tools is a plus.
