About the Team The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) is a Treasury Board Crown responsible for provincial emergency management, along with SaskAlert, fire safety, wildfire management and Saskatchewan's 911 emergency dispatching services. SPSA’s mission is to safeguard and protect the people, property and resources of Saskatchewan through partnerships, coordinated planning, education, prevention, mitigation, response and recovery. With a fleet of specialized aircraft, equipment, personnel and bases across the province, SPSA responds to emergencies and disasters from the air, on the ground and behind the scenes. As home of the Fire Commissioner, the SPSA also assists communities in compliance with the National Fire Code through investigations conducted by designated inspectors/peace officers.
ABOUT THE JOB The Opportunity:
This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative professional who enjoys balancing people leadership, financial oversight, problem solving, and process improvement in support of Saskatchewan's critical emergency communications services.
Responsibilities Leads a team of administrative, technical, and operational staff, overseeing human resources, financial management, and service delivery functions to align with strategic goals in the Ministry.
Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive financial strategies—including budgeting, forecasting, capital planning, expenditure analysis, and regulatory compliance—while providing strategic financial advice to the senior management team.
Oversee administrative and operational support services such as facilities management, IT coordination, procurement, contract administration, and compliance with trade agreements, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
Manage recruitment, training, performance management, labour relations, and conflict resolution, while fostering cross‑training and professional development across support units.
Coordinate daily operations, develop work plans, monitor progress, and report on performance outcomes to support continuous improvement and accountability.
Represent the organization on committees and contribute to translating strategic plans and program priorities into actionable service delivery initiatives.
Provide strategic and operational leadership for materials management, accounting, and clerical teams, ensuring integrated, aligned, and effective operations.

A degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
