Lead Carpenter / Foreman Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Carpenter / Foreman to oversee and lead residential construction projects from start to finish. This hands‑on leadership role requires advanced carpentry skills, team management abilities, and a solid understanding of residential building practices. The successful candidate will ensure that jobs are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. The position is Full‑Time.
Wage & Compensation Hourly Wage: $35.00 – $40.00 per hour (based on experience and certification level)
Overtime Pay: As per BC Employment Standards

Responsibilities Lead, supervise, and work alongside a crew of carpenters and labourers on residential job sites
Interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications accurately
Perform and oversee all aspects of residential construction carpentry, including:
Framing (floors, walls, roofs)
Siding installation (vinyl, wood, Hardie, etc.)
Concrete forming for foundations, slabs, and structural elements
Coordinate site logistics and daily work schedules with supervisors
Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies on‑site
Inspect work to ensure quality control and compliance with building codes
Provide mentorship and hands‑on training to junior crew members
Monitor material usage and assist with ordering supplies when needed
Keep accurate daily reports and communicate progress to site supervisor or project manager
Troubleshoot problems and provide practical construction solutions in real‑time
Requirements Minimum 5–7 years of hands‑on carpentry experience in residential construction
At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role
Proficient in framing, forming, siding, and finishing carpentry
Strong understanding of the BC Building Code
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Physically fit and capable of working in all weather conditions
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Own basic hand tools and PPE
Preferred Certifications Red Seal Carpenter Certification (Preferred but not mandatory)
Fall Protection Certification (Required)
WHMIS Certification (Required)
First Aid – Level 1 or higher (Preferred)
Skid steer, telehandler, or aerial lift ticket (Asset)
