The candidate will be responsible for developing the voice of SNBC’s family of brands (the Iconics), ensuring each brand has a distinct identity that resonates with its target international and global audiences.
The candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of brand copywriting tool training for internal teams, regional and national partners, destination marketing organizations (DMOs/RDMOs), and international stakeholders.
The candidate must act as the owner and brand voice steward for SNBC’s family of brands, ensuring consistent application of approved brand standards, tone, and messaging across all communications.
The candidate will be responsible for creating, editing, and refining a wide range of content materials, including long-form content such as web stories and articles, as well as short-form content such as digital ads, social media copy, and emails for domestic, national, and international audiences.
The candidate must collaborate with the Integrated Marketing Team, program managers, and internal stakeholders to define priorities and create copy and creative strategies that support campaign success and KPI achievement.
The candidate will be responsible for working closely with the Manager, Brand Storytelling to develop and influence strategies, provide direction, and establish messaging and goals for copywriting projects.
The candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining SNBC’s brand voice across all platforms while ensuring consistency with the family of brands and visual identity standards.
The candidate will be responsible for managing external writer contractors as DBC’s lead editor, monitoring performance, and ensuring high-quality content deliverables are achieved.
The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all materials are accurate, appropriately written, and aligned with policies, internal standards, and the Super, Natural British Columbia family of brands voice.
The candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with creative agencies,



vendors, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered successfully and on schedule.
The candidate will be responsible for gathering and verifying content from subject matter experts and information databases to ensure accuracy and reliability.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the writing budget and procurement contracts, including developing agreements, negotiating terms, and evaluating contractor performance.
The candidate will be responsible for managing the internal flow of copy between departments and providing writing guidance and advice to managers and staff.
The candidate will be responsible for performing senior-level creative responsibilities, including presenting creative work and representing the creative team from a writing perspective.
The candidate will be responsible for performing other related duties and assignments as required to support organizational objectives.
Job Requirements The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
The candidate must have a Diploma in a related field along with 6 months of relevant experience.
The candidate must have a Certificate or completed coursework in a related field along with 1 year of relevant experience.
The candidate must have completed secondary school graduation (Dogwood or GED) along with 2 years of relevant experience.
The candidate must have 3 years of relevant experience in the field, with no related education required.
The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience working in communications or marketing for related organizations.
The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience writing content for omnichannel campaigns, including web, digital ads, social media, and email.
The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience working with brand identity and brand voice development.
The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience editing both long-form and short-form copy.
The candidate must demonstrate advanced proofreading, copyediting, and information-gathering skills to produce accurate and high-quality communications.




The candidate must demonstrate the ability to engage and inspire audiences through customer-first storytelling.
The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of cultural sensitivities and apply a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens to all communications.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to co-lead conceptual thinking, develop creative concepts, and express ideas through concept statements, taglines, and related creative materials.
Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience developing content using current writing practices, GEO-friendly approaches, and digital-focused strategies.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience coordinating and managing external contractors and creative partners.
Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with Indigenous groups and equity-deserving communities while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in the tourism industry.
The candidate must demonstrate strong information-seeking skills by actively gathering details, exploring issues beyond routine requirements, identifying opportunities, and resolving discrepancies through effective questioning.
The candidate must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to adapt effectively to changing situations, diverse individuals, and evolving organizational needs.
