As the Policy and Advocacy Officer, you will navigate the political landscape to collaborate with food bank leaders and government officials. Your role includes conducting research, developing reports, and executing campaigns that raise awareness about food insecurity. You will need to effectively engage with policymakers to advance Food Banks Canada's strategic goals in supporting communities across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on policy and legislative developments
• Develop impactful reports, such as HungerCount
• Draft briefing materials and policy recommendations
• Plan and execute advocacy campaigns
• Establish relationships with elected officials and public servants
Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in political science or equivalent
• Minimum 4 years relevant experience
• Solid communication and project management skills
• Knowledge of Canada’s political systems
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
