That’s where Matrix comes in, helping businesses design and implement the right solutions for their needs.Job SummaryWe are seeking a mid to senior-level AV Technician to join our Toronto team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing audiovisual systems in conference rooms, classrooms, and other meeting environments. In addition to installation, you will troubleshoot systems, load programs, and set up AV equipment. You will work closely with AV programmers to configure, test, and commission systems, ensuring optimal performance and functionality. The role also involves mentoring junior installers and collaborating with the team to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard. Candidates with prior AV Technician experience are encouraged to apply.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview Bill of Materials, Drawings, Project Scope and prepare for site activitiesRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprintsPerform comprehensive, onsite audio‑visual installation including low voltage wiring, rack setup, projector and screen installations, speakers and control systems.Perform cable pulls, solder, crimp and terminate audio, video and network cablesPerform complex installations (anchoring, cable mounts, uni‑strut)Maintain daily communication with Scheduler,



Installation Manager and Account Managers on status of project and task listsTroubleshoot AV issues and provide solutionsWilling to work out of town; overnight travel may berequired from time to timeSkills and AbilitiesAbility to work and think independently and work under tight deadlinesRead and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprintsKnowledge of low voltage systems and signal flow for audio, video and controlTroubleshooting, quality checks, servicing abilities, problem solving abilitiesMust be organized and detail orientedWilling to mentor Junior level installersEducation and/or ExperienceIdeal candidate will have 3 – 5 years of audiovisual integration experiencePost‑secondary education in Electronics, Broadcasting, or a relevant field is preferredCrestron/Extron/AMX programming/configuration experience preferredAvixa CTS or CTS‑I CertificationIndustry recognized training: Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, DanteSafetyBondable, clean driving recordMust be able to lift 50lbs and work on ladders and liftsTrade certifications: WHMIS, fall arrest, scissor lift and other safety certificationsCompany BenefitsJoin a well‑established, family‑owned business offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive, 100% employer‑paid benefits package, including dental, vision, extended health (paramedical services), critical illness, LTD, life, and AD&D insurance.
