Compensation: (Grid15) $28.72 - $30.71

Job Summary
TheFacilities Technician is responsible for the implementation and adherence ofbest practices around facility maintenance at our various sites and is a full-timeposition. This role is responsible for conducting and coordinating routine andnon-routine maintenance activities for all Phoenix facilities, providesoversight to safety and efficiently performs work activities. Ithandles various areas of businessrepair and aids in the implementation of maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities
Facilities Maintenance

Promotes and maintains a welcoming environment forresidents, guests and staff, maintaining a positive demeanor when interactingwith others

Ensures that Phoenix Society’s facilities aremaintained to a high standard of care, ensuring we meet licensing and safetystandards

Provides overall maintenance repairs and project coordination to ensurethat work is planned and executed safely and efficiently

Works with the supervisor and management teams to document and alignprocesses for outside services

Liaises with contractors for site work that is beyond the scope of thePhoenix maintenance team

Oversees the development of maintenance procedures. Makes recommendations for the development of newand/or modifications to existing procedures

Performs on-site work scoping and estimating for routine and non-routinemaintenance activities

Assists in implementing improvements to facility performance andequipment maintenance strategies

Assists inturnaround planning and scheduling as required

Acts as theon-site management representative and liaison when the management team is offsite

Respondsto maintenance and repair requests, emergency or otherwise

Proactively inspects grounds, facilities, andequipment to determine if repairs or preventive maintenance is required

Responds to and plans for completion of maintenancetasks, as requested by their managers

Detects, identifies and repairs buildingdeficiencies, in coordination with management

Completes safety checks and conducts routinemaintenance on systems and equipment, including maintaining records of thiswork

Performs generalmaintenance tasks for the buildings, such as painting, power washing, majorclean ups, event setup/take down

Assists with administrative tasks including, but notlimited to, maintaining inventory systems, filing, records keeping, andpurchasing system

Qualifications

Successful completion of 1-2 year post-secondary education in a Facilities Technician program

Driver’s License: Class 5 license accompanied by suitable drivers abstract

First Aid Certificationwith CPR is required

3+ year s of experience in a similar role

Satisfactorycompletion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening isrequired

Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required

Satisfactorycompletion of Nonviolent crisis intervention (NVCI)

Skills& Knowledge

English:fluent and able to effectively communicate professionally, both orally andwritten

Demonstratedexperience in facilities operations and maintenance

Abilityto do work inside and outdoors, and significant physical activity, includingheavy lifting, climbing ladders and stairs, and standing for extended periodsof time

Computer:proficient in MS Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and databases

Superiortime management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task

Ability tosuccessfully collaborate with diverse personalities and communicateprofessionally and respectfully with all levels of the organization

High energy level, positiveattitude, willingness to learn and grow
