The Role
Job Title: Warehouse Acceptance AgentDepartment: LogisticsLocation: Edmonton, ABReporting To: Logistics Supervisor
As a Warehouse Acceptance Agent, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, and accepting freight into BBE’s warehouse operations. This role is critical to ensuring shipments are handled accurately from the moment they arrive, with exceptions identified early and communicated clearly.
You will work closely with warehouse, transportation, customer service, and carrier partners to verify inbound freight, maintain accurate records, support safe handling practices, and help ensure freight moves through the operation efficiently and without delay.
What You’ll Do
Operate a forklift and other machinery used for transporting or shipping materials.
Unload and load trucks by forklift.
Provide consistent and detailed order picking/loading and staging.
Prepare and stage orders according to schedule.
Identify source materials from appropriate locations and utilize appropriate equipment to process orders.
Label and sort incoming and outgoing shipments.
Relocate items within the warehouse.
Track inventory of incoming and outgoing items.
Verify manifests that accompany freight to ensure discrepancies are addressed immediately.
Manifest freight for shipping.
Communicate with vendors regarding various aspects of freight.
Dangerous goods processing (packaging, handling, and documentation) when necessary.
Packaging and preparing freight for transport.
Organize pick-ups, delivery, and billing promptly.
Consolidation of shipments.
Prioritization of shipments based on client-supplied requirements.
Timely and effective resolution of client or process issues as required.
Maintainaccuraterecord-keeping as required by various government agencies and company policies.
Follow company Health & Safety standards and complete safety duties as required and instructed to do so.
Follow all company policies and procedures as trained and communicated.
Always ensure the cleanliness of workstations.
Ensure all workplace issues, including barriers to a high level of customer service, are brought to the attention of the Supervisor/Manager and assist in the solution process.
Additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
Logistics and transportation experience is an asset.
Shipping, receiving, and warehouse experience is considered an asset.
Forklift and equipment operating experience is considered an asset.
CIFFA, SCMP or similar certification is considered an asset.
High attention to detail.
