Senior Risk Evaluator Specialist In Scope Permanent, Full Time Location: Regina Head Office, Regina Harbour Landing, or Saskatoon Property Claims Pay Range: $93,975.00 - $118,596.00 Closes August 25, 2026 Work Location: This role is eligible for hybrid – this means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (in Regina Head Office, Regina Harbour Landing or Saskatoon Property Claims), on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met. Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.
Key Accountabilities Risk Management Establishes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and oversees processes to verify the quality of the work performed by the Loss Prevention Team.
Benchmarks industry best practices and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Reviews high hazard complex risks for insurance consideration or appetite expansion.
Researches new designs and enhancements in the construction industry.
Develops and maintains effective business relationships with provisional, regional and local authorities to improve risk in Saskatchewan and monitor trends and activities in the market.
Provides value-added service to key stakeholders.
Supports Corporate Underwriting with internal and external National 3rd party vendor risk management inspection program including hazard identification and report content.
Ensures efficiency and cost-effective measures for programming.
Designs, develops, maintains and reviews Homeowner Guaranteed Replacement Cost (GRC) program including training.
Identifies the required research to be conducted to ensure accuracy of valuation system(s).
Assists in the collection of data by reaching out to industry contacts and creating business rapport.
Provides expertise when inspecting and meeting with complex high-risk entities to qualify for coverage.
Provides framework of support for all lines of loss prevention including but not limited to personal property, commercial property, alternative risk and farm.
Developing new frameworks for additional lines of business such as commercial auto.
Ensures underwriting appetite and standards are considered in development of loss prevention efforts and risk management audit program, considering industry standard approach.
Develops Positive Feedback Letter program.
Evaluates, interprets and delivers recommendations on construction cost trends to calculate annual national building inflation indexing.
Develops communication and partnerships with governing provincial, regional and local agencies to improve provincial safety standards and align in approach.
Designs and presents on content (i.e. presentations) to complex high-risk clients and municipalities in loss prevention and risk mitigation methods, providing advice and expertise in risk identification and methods to reduce exposure.
Conducts research, evaluates and stays on top of emerging trends, technologies and best practices within the industry.
Training & Program Development Educates team continuously on the latest trends and technologies to improve the effectiveness of the teams’ operations.
Collaborates with internal partners (e.g. human resources, communications, brand)



in the designs and training approach for internal staff and external partners (e.g. broker partners and customers) in relation to valuations or loss prevention fieldwork data.
Delivers that training to external partners.
Designs a training platform for external partners on risk mitigation and loss prevention.
Provides technical expertise in design and development of loss prevention and risk assessment material for internal staff, broker partners and customer use.
Present to internal partners and departments for awareness of risk mitigation and loss prevention methods, hazard identification and value.
Contributes to quality assurance activities by developing supporting materials for training needs in collaboration with Corporate Underwriting.
Designs and delegates onboarding of new staff.
Safety Management Ensures the risk evaluator team and underwriters attending onsite inspections are properly trained and adhere to safety protocols.
Contributes to their safety performance by advocating safety.
Contributes to developing and implementing company policies and procedures related to safety and environmental compliance, in collaboration with Corporate Safety.
Conducts safety audits and inspections on the Risk Evaluation team to identify and address safety hazards, risks and seeks opportunities to improve processes.
Performs field audits that support insurance segments (e.g. farm, commercial auto) to determine and monitor compliance with established safety standards.
Participates as an expert on the OHS committee.

Technical Knowledge & Skills Advanced knowledge of Residential/Commercial/Industrial/Institutional Building Valuation Methods.
Advanced knowledge of loss prevention inspection and hazard methods including theories and their effect on the insurability of risks.
Advanced knowledge of national, provincial, and/or local regulations, codes, and building by-laws.
Advanced knowledge of building construction and materials, plant equipment, mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and wiring, the transport and storage of toxic chemicals, high-hazard or prohibitive atmosphere.
Advanced knowledge of structural design and construction.
Advanced ability to analyze the structural integrity of older structures.
Advanced ability to review and assess 3rd party engineering reports and blueprints.
Advanced ability to understand and create reports and technical documents.




Advanced skill in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software.
Advanced skill in the use of valuation programs.
Proficient knowledge and skill to interpret and transfer data from outsourced vendor reports and valuations.
Fundamental knowledge of insurance theory, principals, and practices.
Education & Certifications Four-year degree in engineering from an accredited post-secondary education institution.
Must hold a Professional Engineering designation in Canada (P.Eng).
Level 1 Thermography certification.
Saskatchewan Building Official License from Building Standards and Licensing Branch.
Fireman Boiler Certificate.
WETT certification.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Experience 6 - 8 years’ experience in building construction, field surveys, inspections or estimating with at least 4 years as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng).

Working Conditions Physical Effort and Setting: Majority of time spent in a typical work environment with occasional and/or mild exposure to unpleasant conditions and light physical effort which may include walking, light lifting or crawling.
Driving within city limits and/or some long-distance highway driving.
Sensory Attention: Occasional periods of concentration is required.
Mental Stress: Moderate exposure to one or more mental pressures
