Course Description: Architectural Design Studio 2 is a continuation of the required design studio courses in the Master of Architecture sequence, and continues the introduction of architectural design through a studio teaching setting. Architectural Design Studio 2 invites students to evaluate architecture’s impact on context and how it takes shape through ordering context, site, and program.

Class Schedule: TU 09:00-13:00 TU 14:00-18:00

Sessional dates of appointment: January 1, 2027 - April 30, 2027

(Salary inclusive of 4% or 6% vacation pay, where applicable)

Minimum Qualifications: M.Arch degree or other Graduate degree in Architecture preferred. We are seeking applicants with a proven record of teaching foundation design studios at the M. Arch and/or B.A/B.Arch level.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of contemporary architectural pedagogy and the current state of the discipline, at both practical and theoreticallevels, is highly desirable.

Duties: Preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work,



submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.

This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12 of the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 collective agreement.
