Coordinator, Fund Development & Campaigns provides strategic leadership for fundraising, donor engagement, philanthropic partnerships, and campaign execution across Guelph Community Health Centre (GCHC).
The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fund development strategy that supports organizational priorities, including community health programs, health equity initiatives, food security programs such as The SEED, and future strategic initiatives. The position will lead major gift fundraising, corporate and foundation partnerships, annual giving activities, and significant fundraising campaigns while building sustainable systems and relationships that strengthen GCHC's long‑term financial sustainability and community impact.
Main Responsibilities
Fund Development Strategy & Leadership
Implement the annual and multi-year fundraising strategies aligned with GCHC's strategic priorities.
Support revenue generation through major gifts, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, annual giving, community fundraising initiatives, and campaign activities.
Ensure fundraising goals, key performance indicators, evaluation measures, and reporting systems are met and maintained.
Monitor and report on fundraising performance and return on investment.
Identify and recommend new fundraising opportunities to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
Strengthen organizational fundraising capacity and foster a culture of philanthropy across the organization.
Campaign Planning & Execution
Support major fundraising campaigns, including capital, growth,
and program‑specific initiatives.
Collaborate with leadership, volunteers, campaign committees, and community partners to establish campaign strategy, timelines, and targets.
Monitor campaign progress and adjust approaches as needed to maximize fundraising outcomes.
Support campaign readiness, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability planning.
Contribute significantly to campaign revenue goals and donor engagement activities.
Major Gift Development
Develop a growing portfolio of major gift prospects and donors including donor engagement and solicitation plans
Support cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition activities for gifts.
Prepare donor proposals, presentations, cases for support, impact reports, and stewardship materials.
Support senior leadership, Board members, and volunteers in securing major gifts.
Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and fundraising activities within the organization's CRM system.
Donor, Community & Partnership Development
Build and strengthen a sustainable pipeline of individual donors, community philanthropists, businesses, foundations, and corporate partners.
Conduct prospect identification and research to identify new funding opportunities.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors and community stakeholders.
Increase donor engagement, retention, and long‑term giving.
Represent GCHC in the community and at relevant events, meetings, and networking opportunities.
Board & Volunteer Engagement
Support the Board of Directors and the Fund Development Committee in fundraising and donor stewardship activities.
Engage, and support fundraising volunteers, campaign cabinets, and committees as necessary
Support fundraising champions.
Fundraising Communications & Stewardship
Provide ongoing refinement of cases for support for organizational and campaign priorities.
Collaborate with communications, program staff, and leadership on fundraising materials and impact stories.
Ensure consistent messaging across donor communications and fundraising initiatives.
Grants, Foundations & Partnerships
Identify, cultivate, and support relationships with foundation, corporate, and institutional funders with Senior Leadership
Collaborate with program leaders to prepare compelling grant proposals, reports, and funding applications.
Maintain strong relationships with current and prospective funding partners.
Systems, Reporting & Internal Coordination
Strengthen fundraising systems, policies, practices, and data management processes.
Ensure donor information and fundraising activities are accurately maintained within CRM systems.
Generate regular reports for leadership and the Board regarding fundraising performance.
Work collaboratively with program teams to align funding priorities with organizational and community needs.
Support continuous improvement of fundraising operations and donor engagement practices.
Key Qualifications and Skills
Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in fundraising, fund development, philanthropy, communications or nonprofit leadership.
Demonstrated success securing major gifts, experience securing or supporting six‑figure gifts is considered an asset.
Experience leading or supporting capital, comprehensive, or major fundraising campaigns.
Robust knowledge of donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship,
Experience working with Boards of Directors, volunteers, and community stakeholders.
Proficiency with donor database and CRM systems - Keela,
Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically while managing multiple priorities.
High level of discretion, professionalism, and accountability.
