Description:
Reporting to the Chinook Regional Hospital Laboratory Manager, the Clinical Supervisor provides day-to-day operational leadership to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of clinical laboratory services. The role is accountable for staff supervision and development, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, attendance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations,payrolland e-People functions, and the application of human resource policies and collective agreements.The Clinical Supervisor supports a culture of accountability, collaboration, employee engagement, and continuous improvement while ensuring the effectiveutilizationof human, financial, and operational resources. Working closely with Site and Department Laboratory Technical Leaders,



the incumbentis responsible foroperational decision-making, workforce planning, scheduling, and achieving departmental, site, and organizationalobjectives. The role supports Laboratory Services' Quality Management System through accreditation activities, quality improvement initiatives, and compliance with regulatory and professional standards. The Clinical Supervisor also provides leadership for projects, process improvements, and the implementation ofnew technologies, methodologies, equipment, and tests. Using advanced problem-solving and change management skills, the incumbentidentifiesopportunities for improvement, implements best practices, and contributes to strategic planning and service excellence in support of high-quality patient care.

Required Qualifications:
Formal education in a laboratory healthcare discipline (e.g., Medical Laboratory Technologist, Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologist, Medical Laboratory Assistant). A minimum of five (5) years of progressive laboratory experience in a complex healthcare workplace, withdemonstratedknowledge of laboratory operations, quality systems, and accreditation standards. Currentsupervisory experience in a healthcare setting, including responsibility for staff supervision,coaching/performance management, attendance management, and employee relations. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operational priorities, support change initiatives, and effectively apply human resource policies and collective agreements.Effectivecommunication, leadership, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills arerequired.

Preferred Qualifications:
Formal leadership or management education. Experience leading quality improvement initiatives, accreditation activities, & laboratory projects involvingnew technologies, methodologies, equipment, or process implementation. Experience in workforce planning, scheduling,fiscal responsibility, &resource; management. Experience working in a unionized environment. Experience in change management, strategic planning, & continuous improvement initiatives.
