We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Scaffold Design Engineer/Designer to join our team in Burnaby, BC. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with our Operations Team and have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of projects for various clients. As the ideal candidate, you will work in conjunction with the Operations Team to oversee the entire design process, from concept development to production. Your responsibilities will include creating recent scaffold designs and revising existing ones, all while ensuring compliance with local design codes and regulations. Compensation
$85,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
What You’ll Do
Design and detail scaffolding systems and temporary structures for a variety of construction projects.
Prepare structural calculations, engineering details, and design documentation.
Develop and revise AutoCAD drawings to support project execution.
Review existing scaffolding and temporary structures, assessing structural adequacy and loading conditions.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, fabricators, and project teams to develop safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions.
Respond to technical inquiries and provide design support throughout project delivery.
Ensure all designs comply with applicable CSA standards, the National Building Code of Canada (NBC), WorkSafeBC requirements, and other relevant regulations.
What You Bring
Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience designing scaffolding, temporary works, structural steel, or other construction-related systems is considered an asset.
Proficiency with AutoCAD; experience using structural analysis software is an asset.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, load paths, and construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Experience working in a consulting engineering or construction environment is an asset.
