Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an intermediate Project Engineer to support an oil and gas client in Regina. The successful proponent will support the major projects space responsible for industrial and energy infrastructure projects. This role is project-focused rather than design-focused and supports the Project Manager in managing the project through the full lifecycle, from engineering and design through execution, commissioning, and startup. This role requires being on site 5 days per week.
Day to Day
Develop and maintain project execution plans, key project documentation, and decision logs.
Support project gating activities, including business case development, funding requests, and internal approval processes.
Coordinate with project controls teams on scheduling, cost management, forecasting, accruals, earned value, and performance reporting.
Review and provide feedback on engineering and contractor deliverables, acting as a liaison between project stakeholders and service providers.
Oversee owner-executed field activities, including site coordination and safety oversight for scopes such as hydrovac, geotechnical investigations, and other enabling works.
Ensure project execution aligns with internal HSE, engineering, procurement, and supply chain requirements, collaborating closely with functional teams responsible for compliance.
Monitor and communicate project progress, risks, issues, and key milestones to the Project Manager and project stakeholders.
Support the interpretation and analysis of project schedules, cost reports, and performance metrics to facilitate informed decision-making.
Coordinate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives, timelines, and deliverables remain on track.
Assist with contractor management, execution planning, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Approximately 4-6 years of engineering experience in an industrial or major construction setting
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) working toward registration required
Exposure to project management principles strongly preferred; PMP certification is an asset
Familiarity with industrial project controls concepts (schedule interpretation, cost management, forecasting)
Canadian work experience preferred; international designations considered if registered as an EIT in Canada
Exposure to Primavera P6 considered an asset
