The Inclusive Education Resource Teacher / Junior School IEP Coordinator plays a vital role in helping students with diverse abilities experience belonging, grow in confidence, and develop the skills needed to flourish academically, socially, spiritually, and personally.

Working in partnership with classroom teachers, educational assistants, families, and outside professionals, this position supports students with diverse learning needs, including students with complex needs and intellectual disabilities, through a balanced approach of inclusive classroom participation and targeted direct instruction. Consistent with the BC Ministry of Education Inclusive Education Policy (2024), instruction is provided both in classrooms and in dedicated learning spaces based on each student’s individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide case management for students with diverse learning needs.

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs/CBIEPs that support student growth and meaningful participation (Jr. School).

Deliver individual and small-group instruction in areas such as functional literacy and numeracy, executive functioning, social-emotional development, self-regulation, life skills, and independence.





Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt instruction and foster inclusive learning environments where every student can experience dignity, belonging, and success.

Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with student families and school staff.

Coordinate with outside consultants and organizations to facilitate relevant support and intervention for students.

Coordinate transition planning for students.

Participate in School-Based Team meetings and maintain accurate, Ministry-compliant documentation.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will:

Hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Have Special Education training and/or experience supporting students with diverse abilities (preferred).

Demonstrate experience developing and implementing IEPs/CBIEPs.

Work collaboratively with teachers, educational assistants, families, and School-Based Teams.

Demonstrate a vibrant Christian faith consistent with the mission and Statement of Faith of White Rock Christian Academy, along with a genuine love for children and a commitment to helping every student discover and develop their God-given gifts.
