Why Join the Experimental Measurement Center Team? Within the Experimental Measurement Center (Strain Gauge Lab), part of Development Engineering, you will play a key role in the instrumentation and preparation of development engines for assembly and testing activities. You will be at the heart of experimental measurement activities, installing and validating various types of instrumentation on engine components and sub-assemblies. Your work will contribute directly to the development, validation and improvement of our engines by providing reliable, high-quality experimental data. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, takes pride in precision and attention to detail, and wants to work in an environment where instrumentation, electronics, mechanics and engine testing come together on a daily basis. This is a full‑time position, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours. Evening, weekend or holiday support may occasionally be required.
The position is based in Longueuil and is performed exclusively on‑site.
What will your day‑to‑day look like? Install strain gauges accurately under a microscope on various engine components. Install and integrate, with little or no supervision, various types of instrumentation on engine components and sub‑assemblies, including accelerometers, pressure transducers, displacement sensors, temperature sensors, etc. Perform the necessary checks on modified components prior to instrumentation and engine installation, particularly regarding instrumentation routing and protection. Prepare and validate instrumentation wiring and routing inside and outside the engine. Work closely with assembly and test teams to support the integration of instrumented engines and their preparation for testing. Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to instrumentation and measurement systems. Ensure the quality and reliability of collected measurements to support engineering and development activities.
What do you need to be successful? College diploma or post‑secondary training in instrumentation, electronics, electrical engineering technology, mechanical engineering technology, or a related field. Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and solve complex technical problems. Strong attention to detail and precision, particularly when performing instrumentation work. Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with various engineering and production teams.
Good proficiency with computer tools and Microsoft Office applications. This position is part of a French‑speaking work environment, it requires a very positive knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
