We are looking for an experienced Red Seal Automotive Technician to join our Chrysler dealership in Surrey, BC.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who takes pride in quality repairs, accurate diagnostics, and getting the job done right the first time. You’ll work alongside an experienced service team in a professional shop environment, servicing Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles.
Compensation & Schedule
$38.75–$47.25 per hour flat rate, based on Chrysler skill level
Full-time, permanent position
40 hours per week
Saturday rotation required
What You’ll Do
As a Red Seal Technician, your day will involve a combination of scheduled maintenance, mechanical repairs, electrical diagnosis, and troubleshooting. You will be responsible for completing work efficiently while maintaining the quality and safety standards expected of a factory-trained automotive service operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns using appropriate diagnostic equipment and procedures
Perform repairs and maintenance on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles
Complete inspections and accurately document vehicle condition and recommended repairs
Perform preventative maintenance and manufacturer-recommended services
Troubleshoot complex vehicle systems and determine the appropriate repair strategy
Complete repair orders accurately and communicate technical findings to the Service Advisor
Perform road tests when required to verify concerns and confirm completed repairs
Complete pre-delivery inspections and ensure vehicles meet dealership quality standards
Work with the Parts Department to obtain required components and ensure repairs are completed efficiently
Follow manufacturer procedures, dealership processes, and workplace safety requirements
Maintain an organized and professional work area
Support other technicians and the Service Department when required
What We’re Looking For
Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certification or currently in the process of challenging it
Previous experience as an automotive technician is required
A valid BC Driver’s license is required, including a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required
Able to operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with a keen attention to detail
Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, punctual, and dependable
Ability to work the physical requirements of a service technician role
Ability to regularly lift up to 60 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
High level of mobility, dexterity, endurance, and sensory awareness
Ability to work in an automotive shop environment
Indoor automotive shop with multiple service bays
Exposure to noise (engines, air tools), fumes (exhaust, solvents), and dust
Work performed around moving vehicles, hoists, and heavy equipment
Temperature can vary (shops may be cooler in winter, warmer in summer despite heating/ventilation)
