Analyze responses and make recommendations to requestors
Negotiate with suppliers on prices of goods or services and other terms and conditions
Ensure compliance with purchasing terms and conditions and communicate with suppliers or requisitioners
Ensure transactions and contractual documents take into account various issues, risk elements and reflect commercial agreements
Fill out appropriate forms and documents, prepare correspondence and reports as required
Familiarize others with their work by explaining tasks and inform applicant in real time of the progress of projects
Requirements
College diploma or equivalent
Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) certification, an asset
Two years’ experience or more in similar or related positions or activities
Proven client service skills and experience
Experience with tendering processes (RFPs) an asset
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word,
Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced knowledge of SAP
Strong interpersonal and team-playing skills
Able to take initiative, be proactive, and work independently
Proven negotiation skills
Strong ability to multitask and prioritize in a busy, high-pressure work workplace
Highly organized and able to meet tight deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
Open-minded and comfortable adapting to change.
