Position Summary
BCIT’s School of Construction and the Setting is seeking a full-time, temporary (1.0 FTE ) Faculty, Piping . This position could lead to longer term employment. If you want to share your expertise, knowledge, enjoy teamwork, have an innovative approach, and a proven track record in industry, we would like to hear from you.

Duties & Responsibilities

Classroom instruction to apprentice, entry-level or Industry Services students.

Shop and laboratory instruction and supervision.

Administrative responsibilities, including assignments, examination marking, and student evaluation.

Curriculum maintenance and program enhancement.

Administrative processes required to ensure appropriate resources are in place to deliver training.

Other duties directly related to the instruction of trades and vocational programs.

Input into development of modifications to workshop and instructional areas.

Qualifications

BC Trades Certificate of Qualification/Red Seal endorsement in the following:

Plumber

Gasfitter “Class B”

Additional qualifications enhancing your application but not required:

Gasfitter “class A”

Steamfitter/Pipefitter

Sprinkler-fitter

Five years’ current work experience as a journeyperson in the Plumbing trade.

Effective interpersonal skills and a strong desire to teach.

Effective command of the English language – both written and oral.





Experience working with apprentices in a supervisory role.

Ability to work as part of a team and develop a collegial environment.

Salary Range
Salary Range Salary Range: $82,891 - $122,857 per annum.

Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment.
