Vacation entitlement is 240 hours per year (pro-rated from hire date) to be utilized during the summer months (July and August). The College also provides paid time off during its annual holiday closure from December 25 to January 1. The position includes a comprehensive extended health and dental benefits package, and enrolment in the College Pension Plan is mandatory, with employer-matched contributions.Description: The Steamfitter/Pipefitter Instructor position supports the instruction of the SkilledTrades BC program outline including all levels; foundation through apprenticeship, of the Steamfitter/Pipefitter Trade. The Pipe Trades Foundation program encompasses the learning outcomes for level 1 training in Plumber, Steamfitter/Pipefitter and Sprinklerfitter. Upon successful completion of the foundation program, students will have met the SkilledTrades BC requirements for Level 1 training in each of those trades.Qualifications: Required:Steamfitter/Pipefitter Certificate of Qualification with Red Seal EndorsementMinimum Class B Gasfitter CertificateMinimum of five years of industry experience as a Steamfitter/Pipefitter journeyperson following attainment of Red Seal certificationExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Demonstrated commitment to student success through a supportive,
student-centred approachDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and contribute positively within a team workplace Additional Certificate Requirement:Effective April 1, 2027, SkilledTradesBC requires instructors delivering Gasfitter – Class B, Plumbing, and/or Steamfitter/Pipefitter content to hold a Gasfitter – Class B Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement. The successful candidate is required to obtain and maintain this certification by April 1, 2027, as a condition of the position.
