IT Strategy & Operations Partner (Operational Excellence & Governance)
Location: Hybrid (Greater Toronto Area) 2 days a week
Employment Type: Contract or Contract-to-Hire
Contract Length: 6-Month Rolling Contract (Potential for Extension or Permanent Conversion)

About The Opportunity Our client, a large enterprise organization undergoing significant technology and operational transformation, is seeking an experienced IT Strategy & Operations Partner to serve as a trusted advisor to a senior technology executive.
This highly visible role combines strategy, operations, governance, executive communications, and organizational effectiveness. The successful candidate will help drive leadership alignment, improve execution visibility, and strengthen decision-making across a complex technology environment.
This is an ideal opportunity for a professional with experience in business operations, technology transformation, governance, consulting, PMO leadership, or executive-facing strategy roles.
Key Responsibilities Executive Operations & Leadership Support Design and manage leadership operating cadences, governance forums, executive reviews, and quarterly planning sessions.
Develop agendas, executive briefings, decision logs, action trackers, and follow-up mechanisms.
Ensure leadership teams have the information necessary to make informed decisions and drive accountability.
Strategy Execution & Governance Translate strategic priorities and objectives into actionable execution plans.
Track strategic initiatives, risks, dependencies, and key decisions across multiple workstreams.
Support governance activities across transformation programs, operational excellence initiatives, compliance, architecture, vendor management, and change initiatives.
Executive Communications Prepare executive-ready presentations, leadership updates, briefing notes, talking points, and strategic communications.
Synthesize complex information into concise recommendations, risks, options, and proposed actions.
Support communications for executive leadership, steering committees,
and governance forums.
Organizational Effectiveness Identify operational inefficiencies, ownership gaps, and cross-functional challenges.
Facilitate alignment across teams and stakeholders to improve execution and accountability.
Support operating model development, role clarity initiatives, governance structures, and RACI frameworks.
Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives Lead or coordinate high-priority initiatives on behalf of senior technology leadership.
Conduct analysis and drive execution on transformation, integration, operational, and governance-focused activities.
Handle sensitive organizational, financial, compliance, and vendor-related matters with professionalism and discretion.
Required Qualifications Experience in strategy, consulting, transformation, PMO, technology operations, governance, business operations, or executive support functions.
Proven ability to partner with senior leaders, including Directors, VPs, and Executives.
Strong executive communication and presentation development skills.
Demonstrated experience creating dashboards, governance routines, operating cadences, action trackers, and decision frameworks.
Ability to navigate ambiguity, identify priorities, and drive outcomes with limited direction.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities in matrixed environments.
Excellent judgment and experience handling confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting enterprise technology organizations or large-scale transformation programs.
Exposure to governance, compliance, risk management, vendor management, architecture, operational excellence, or M&A; initiatives.
Consulting,
business operations, transformation office, or strategy experience.
Experience preparing materials for executive leadership teams, boards, or senior governance committees.
Interest in AI, automation, and modern digital operating models.
