TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for an ESTIMATOR for an chance to work in the greater Edmonton area.

Job Description:

Responsible for project estimates with high proficiency in all areas (i.e. Civil, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical) within the operating facility, for brownfield and greenfield projects

Developing, approving and presenting estimate plans, budgets and schedules

Reviewing, approving and issuing recommended contingency rates and escalation rates to be presented to the project team

Analyzing estimating data and correlating to other projects and standards

Maintaining requirements of the estimate and anticipating overlaps and gaps in costing

Ensuring that internal reviews are provided in a timely manner

Reviewing and providing guidance in the preparation of proposal cash flow models and working capital analysis

Reviewing and critiquing designs and specifications for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when required

Participating in risk discussions and associated contingency recommendations

Job Requirements:

Technical college diploma and/or engineering degree





20+ years of estimating experience, preferably with large projects in an operations setting (Chemical, Oil and Gas, Mining)

Multi-disciplinary estimator (civil, mechanical, piping, instrumentation & electrical estimating experience)

AACE certified in estimating and/or a current member of AACE International

Estimating software experience, excellent Excel skills

Background in SAP is an asset

Understanding of Microsoft Office suite of products

Ability to write and present estimate plans/basis documents

Previous experience in an operating plant preferred

Maintenance and industrial project controls experience is an advantage

Knowledge of industry/regulatory codes, standards and practices

Ability to work with limited supervision

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
