- Clinical Union: CUPE Anticipated Start Date: 08/31/2026 FTE: 0 Anticipated Shift: Days; Weekends Annual Base Hours: 2015 Salary: Rotation Calendar: HOUSEKEEPING AIDE: SUMMARY Working as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the resident rooms and other interior facility areas, ensuring that the areas are maintained in an attractive manner and the resident areas are safeguarded.

QUALIFICATIONS Ability to speak, read and write English is required

- Grade 12 level preferred.

Current and satisfactory criminal record check and Adult Abuse Registry Ability to work and communicate in a team manner with good interpersonal skills Ability to work in a calm and professional manner, show adaptability and flexibility.

Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position.

Previous experience relevant to the position preferred.

Physical demands and job environment: Constant standing and physical movement involved

- bending, lifting, pulling furniture, carrying light and medium weight, pushing of carts, repetitive motion while mopping and washing floors.

Interaction with residents and staff DUTIES All of the work relating to residents is of a confidential nature and information gained must not be communicated to other persons except in the course of duty.

Must be committed to the Mission Statement and Values of Meadowood Manor.
After receiving daily cleaning assignments, selects materials and supplies from utility supply room, loads service cart, and transports to work area.
At end of shift, returns unused supplies to utility room, disposes of trash in designated area, and cleans cart and equipment.
Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
Uses dust cloths and vacuum cleaner to dust window sills, floors and furniture, empties waste baskets, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.




Scours and polishes sinks, mirrors, toilets and similar equipment.
Replenishes supplies of toilet tissue, toweling, hand soap and body shampoo.
Uses cleaning equipment such as mops, buckets, cleaning solutions, vacuum cleaner, floor machine, floors polishers, burnishers and all equipment required for the upkeep of the home.
Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Participates in in-service education and staff development programs.
Attends general staff meetings, and committee meetings as assigned.
Required to do Laundry duties as required.
Attends mandatory inservices, seminars, courses etc.
as required and determined by management .

- LAUNDRY AIDE: SUMMARY Working as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness of the client’s personal clothing and some linen, and to ensure an adequate supply of these items at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS Team player Current and satisfactory criminal record check Ability to speak, read and write English is required

- Grade 12 level preferred Positive communication skills Physically capable of meeting the demands of the position.

Variations in temperature Moderate noise level DUTIES Sorts, washes, irons and repairs residents' personal washable clothing items, table linen from the recreation room and dining area, bedspreads, draperies, and other specially selected items.

Sorts, counts, collects and inspects laundry, sets aside for mending or repeat laundering and repairs any items not meeting acceptable standards.




Sorts articles into the relevant groups and places on the units clean laundry cart.
Makes minor repairs such as sewing on buttons, repairing small tears, zippers, etc.
using the sewing machine, serger or manually.
Marks all the resident belongings with the appropriate resident name and room number.
Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
Completion of all mandatory education sessions, seminars, courses, etc.
as required and determined by the department manager.

Ensure the laundry room is clean and tidy.

On a daily basis: wash down washers, dryers and laundry bags, clean lint traps/vents and mop the floor.

Ensure that all equipment is clean and well maintained.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Meadowood Manor is a faith-based, 88 bed personal care home, privately run by the Manitoba Baptist Home Society Inc., functioning under the WRHA/Provincial Long Term Care program, and following the current MNU and CUPE agreements.
