You'll like being at work.ABOUT THE ROLEUnder the supervision of a Natural Heritage Management Technician, this position will assist with a mixture of fieldwork and office-based tasks as part of varied projects supporting the conservation and management of biodiversity. The successful candidate will be a supporting member of a two-person field crew conducting various environmental surveys, including the assessment of natural assets and grey infrastructure,



Ecological Land Classification surveys, vegetation inventories, and surveys of native and invasive fauna in a wide variety of field conditions. Office-based components of this position will include data entry and analysis, file management, research, and report writing tasks. We are looking for applicants who can work safely and efficiently, who are keen to expand their field skills, and who are excited to engage in diverse projects as required.QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of a post-secondary program, such as biology, ecology, forestry, botany, zoology, environmental science, fish and wildlife, natural resource management, or related field.Field work experience necessary. Ability to work under inclement conditions (e.G. bugs, weather, and wetlands), early mornings and/or late evenings, off trail and using boats, canoes or kayaks as required.Familiarity with conducting (or supporting) biological or ecological inventories and assessments, including Ecological Land Classification (ELC), natural asset condition assessment, and floral and fauna inventories.Familiarity with the identification of the flora and fauna of the Credit River Watershed and Southern Ontario.Experience with word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, and basic GIS applications, such as ESRI Survey123 and ESRI FieldMaps.Strong attention to detail and good problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to represent CVC and our partners in a professional manner.Valid Class "G" Ontario driver's license.
