The region delivers a broad range of services including emergency care, specialized medical and surgical programs, mental health and addictions support, community health services and comprehensive clinical support programs. NLHS also offers multiple long-term care & rehabilitation facilities.Position**Position Details:**Casual Security GuardSite:** Various sites (NLHS) in St. John's - MetroOvertime:** Overtime after 48 hoursHours:** _A_s requiredPayrate:** $ _19.67/hour_Posting Date:** February 11, 2026External Closing Date:** March 11, 2026Schedule ExampleAs neededKey Responsibilities**Patrol Facility Grounds:** Conduct regular rounds of facility premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.**Monitor Surveillance Systems:** Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.**Access Control** : Monitor and control entry points to the facility, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.**Respond to Emergencies:** Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist medical staff as needed during crises and evacuations.**Provide Customer Service:** Greet and assist visitors, patients, and medical staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to facility policies and procedures.**Conflict Resolution:** De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts,



and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.**Report Writing:** Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.**Collaboration with Medical Staff** : Work closely with medical staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.**Enforce Facility Policies:** Ensure that facility policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed.
