Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Junior Mechanical/Piping Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector, ranging from studies to detail engineering across North America and internationally.

Responsibilities

- Apply design skills to prepare or coordinate contract drawings, sketches, and concept designs through to construction.
- Collaborate with Mechanical group members, other Stantec disciplines and clients to achieve project success.
- Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
- Prepare P&ID; and flow diagrams.
- Effectively communicate with other team members in the department or project team.
- Create drawings using AutoCAD, Plant3D, Cadworx, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, AvevaE3D, MicroStation, and other relevant tools.
- Model and design piping and mechanical systems in 3D.
- Collect and verify data in client facilities.
- Prepare isometric drawings.
- Represent field and interpret drawings.

Qualifications

- At least 1–3 years of experience in the industrial consulting industry.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
- Strong collaborative skills while working with single or multi‑discipline teams.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational and time‑management skills.
- Understanding of Stantec’s Employee Health and Safety (EH&S;) program with a focus on safety in the field.




- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, Access) is an asset.
- Ability to work in an environment of constantly changing technology and project assignments.

Education & Experience

- Technical degree, diploma, certificate or equivalent in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1–3 years of experience.

Pay Range

- Locations in Lower Mainland – BC, GTA & Ottawa, Ontario: $53,100.00 – $71,700.00 annually.
