Job Overview The Manager of Finance & Accounting is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial information through the monitoring and maintenance of processes, reporting and reconciliation responsibilities. This role oversees and leads the Finance and Accounting Team. As a leader, the Manager leads by example and sets clear vision for the team, demonstrating fair decision making and providing necessary resources direction to make team and individual performance goals attainable. Excellent leadership and people skills are essential. Key Responsibilities Ensures accuracy of monthly and annual financial statements Co‑ordinates the gathering of data, financial reporting & analysis for leadership and maintains a data base of this information to be used in monthly, quarterly and annual financial meetings, future strategy and execution decisions. Maintains the setup of General Ledger accounts and ensures financial reporting is appropriately updated Collaborates with GoodLife Accounting to ensure statement deadlines are met Oversees Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and approves all reconciliation reporting Provides analysis for AR collection and AP invoicing to provide insights and recommendations to management team Assesses the accuracy of invoices in the CRM and creates additional reporting to support collection efforts Plans and prepares the annual budget for canfitpro in tandem with the executive and management team at canfitpro and the Finance and Accounting Team at GoodLife Provides direction and support to the managers in order to help them achieve financial targets and holds them accountable to financial targets Schedules and collaborates with department managers to complete budget Analyzes annual seasonality and its impact on monthly budgets Maintains reporting for actual financial results to projected budget Manages direct reports and the people requirements of the Department/Team using provided tools and resources to ensure the successful execution of all key responsibilities and tasks, retention of great talent, and high Associate engagement. Facilitates recruitment of direct reports alongside the Talent Acquisition Department to ensure adequate resourcing based on approved Department/Team budget Leads the onboarding, coaching, learning, development,
and performance management of all direct reports to ensure a positive and safe working experience Manages internal reporting for annual Audit performed by external firm Collaborates with Goodlife team to ensure accurate year‑end financial statement Provides answers and feedback to initial auditor inquiry Researches and responds to additional follow up until audit close Communication/Business Relationships Internal (within the Organization) Contacts: COO, Directors, Management Team & All Staff Purpose of Communication: Provides financial statement analysis by department, manages budgeting process, implements cost saving and efficiencies to streamline operations and maximize net earnings. External (outside the Organization) Contacts: Third party vendors/Partners Purpose of Communication: Contract management and escalations management for AR and AP invoicing. Education Minimum Required: Post‑secondary degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting. Work Experience Minimum Required: 3 years previous experience in an accounting position 3 years previous experience in a leadership position Preferred: 5+ years previous experience in an accounting position 5+ years previous experience in a leadership position Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Minimum Required: CPA Accounting designation in good standing Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate Excel skills Strong leadership and decision‑making skills Solid analytical and problem solving Exemplary time management, planning and organization skills Superior verbal and written communication skills High level of motivation, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in an ever‑changing environment Ability to manage and effectively prioritize projects Knowledge of Great Plains, CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics and Moneris POS is an asset Core Competencies Developing Direct Reports and Others: Provides challenging tasks and assignments. This position is eligible for bonuses in addition to the base salary. The annual range of expected compensation for the position is $78,000 - $110,000 determined by performance, time in the position and variable compensation earned.
