DESCRIPTION

The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools & Instructional Programs is seeking Part-time Instructors to support the Adult Education evening program.

Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics

Two nights per week, 6:00 – 9:00 PM (Anticipated). Provide instruction in advanced manufacturing and/or robotics. Preferred industry experience. Candidates may teach: Introduction to Manufacturing, Manual Mill and Lathe Operation, Mastercam, CNC Setup & Operation and Additive Manufacturing, Quality Inspection, Assurance and Measurement.

Auto Body Technician

Two nights per week, 7:00 – 10:00 PM. Prepare students for entry-level employment in the auto body industry. Lead hands‑on training on metal straightening, paint mixing and application, vehicle detailing, welding skills (oxyacetylene, MIG, nitrogen), plastic repair, spray equipment. Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.

Automotive Institute

Monday – Thursday, 6:30 – 9:30 PM. Teach a 540‑hour Automotive Training Program covering maintenance, engine repair, transmissions, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and ASE exam preparation.

Auto Technician

Monday – Thursday, 3:00 – 5:30 PM. Teach entry‑level shop safety, oil changes, tires, brakes, and related tasks. Strong encouragement for candidates with industry experience as automotive technicians.

Building Maintenance

Monday – Thursday, 3:30 – 5:30 PM. Prepare adult learners for building maintenance and facilities support roles, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, patching, preventative maintenance, tool safety, OSHA standards.

Dental Assistant

Two nights per week, 3:30 – 6:00 PM. Provide instruction for students to assist with dental procedures,



four-handed dentistry, infection control, radiology, and instrument usage. Industry experience required; teaching experience strongly preferred.

Pet Grooming

Two nights per week, 6:30 – 9:30 PM. Provide industry‑aligned training covering Pet Grooming I (canine anatomy, behavior, basic grooming) and Pet Grooming II (grooming styles, tools, trimming). Ensure students can work with pets and owners.

Trade Electric

Two nights per week, 7:00 – 10:00 PM. Provide industry‑aligned training in NCCER Electric Level I (commercial residential electrical construction, wiring, switches, circuits) with classroom and workshop sessions, and Trade Electric – Motor Control (start, stop, manual, remote, automatic controls).

REQUIREMENTS

- Industry related experience
- Previous teaching experience preferred
