This role is Hybrid based in the city posted. We offer a dynamic work workplace with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design of overhead and underground power delivery systems ranging from 4kV to 500kV by creating detailed scopes and estimates, performing calculations, developing design drawings following applicable utility, national or international standards and codesInteract with internal / external contacts as necessary for design detailsKnowledge of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city, county, etc.) are also highly desiredCollect, interpret, and organize project engineering and vendor data,



and efficiently select and build bill of materialsInterface with senior personnel to resolve potential technical and project issuesAssist in compiling and maintaining internal engineering standards and work practicesCoordinate with other business units to verify their project design requirements and delivery scheduleRequirementsQualificationsThe successful candidate should possess a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of Seven years' related experience, with a strong focus on complex or industrial electrical distribution system designExperience in the civil, structural, electrical engineering, construction and telecommunications industryDemonstrated proficiency in PLS-CADD for complex distribution and industrial line design is required; experience with Quickpole or SpidaCalc is an assetDemonstrated knowledge of FortisBC, FortisAB, ATCO, Hydro One, or other utility Distribution StandardsExperience with Aerial Communications line & poles inspections or design.
