Job title: Warming Centre Medical StaffReports to: Warming Centre Team LeadJob purposeUnder the supervision of the Warming Centre Team Lead, the Warming Centre Medical Staff play a vital role in providing compassionate, frontline care to individuals seeking shelter and support during cold weather. The primary responsibility of this position is to assess, treat, and monitor minor wounds and injuries, ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests.Duties and responsibilitiesProvide first aid and minor wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring injuries.Assess guests for signs of infection or complications and escalate care as necessary.Maintain accurate records of treatments provided and report any concerns to supervisor.Offer health education to guests regarding wound care and personal hygiene.Work collaboratively with other staff and volunteers to ensure a secure, welcoming environment.Assist with general medical needs as required, including basic health checks and referrals.Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.Skills and Qualifications· Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN),



or equivalent medical certification.· Current First Aid and CPR certification.· Experience in community health, wound care, or emergency response preferred.· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with sensitivity to diverse populations.· Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.· Self Motivated and Self Directed· Able to perform duties with minimal supervision.· Reliable transportation and ability to travel.Working conditionsThe Warming Centre Medical Staff may be exposed to:· Stressful situations such as crisis and/or emergencies· In accordance with SMLCS health policies, we must have appropriate vaccinations for communicable diseases, including Hep A&B, Flu and COVID-19Direct reportsNoneWork Hours & BenefitsDuration: January – March 31, 2026Shift Schedule: 7pm – midnight (open 7 days a week), flexible with schedulingWage: $35.00 per hourJob Type: Fixed term contractContract length: 2 monthsPay: Up to $35.00 per hourWork Location: In person
