Total Group of Companies is looking for a Junior Fire Systems Technician to join our team of fire & life safety professionals! This is an entry‑level position ideal for someone looking to start a career in the fire protection industry.

This role will support inspections, maintenance, and basic service work across a variety of fire protection systems including fire alarm, sprinkler, extinguishers, and suppression systems. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and receive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

- Assist with inspection, service, and basic troubleshooting of fire protection systems
- Support repairs, upgrades, and maintenance tasks as directed
- Help prepare inspection and deficiency reports
- Assist with equipment setup, teardown, and general job site tasks
- Maintain company equipment and vehicles
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Participate in scheduled inspections and service work

Eligibility Criteria

- Authorized to work in Canada, and possess a valid SIN
- Valid Driver’s License (clean abstract preferred)
- Willing to travel as required and work after hours/weekends as needed
- Willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule (once trained)
- Ability to obtain standard oilfield and safety training tickets as required

Qualifications

- Previous experience in construction, mechanical, electrical, or safety-related work is an asset but not required
- Interest in fire protection systems and safety services
- Basic mechanical or technical aptitude
- Willingness to work toward certifications (such as CFAA) over time
- Ability to read basic drawings or willingness to learn
